April 13, 2010 Annual & Monthly Meeting
April 13, 2010
The Town of Burnett Annual Meeting was called to order on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 6 p.m. by Chairman Tim Fletcher. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
Twenty-five people attended. Registration form is on file in the Clerk/Treasurer’s office.
The minutes of the 2009 Annual Meeting were read by the Clerk. A motion was made by Gary Backhaus and seconded by Ken Woock to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
The 2009 Financial Statement was read by the Clerk. A motion was made by David Otto and seconded by Gary Backhaus to accept the statement. Motion carried.
The Burnett Sanitary District report was read by the Clerk. Since there was no one to explain the report in attendance, there could be no motions to accept.
The Stone Cemetery report was read by Dale Braunschweig. A motion was made by Lavern Pieper and seconded by Gary Backhaus to accept the report. Motion carried.
Copies of the Burnett Central and Burnett Union Cemeteries reports were distributed.
A motion was made by Gary Backhaus and seconded by Faye Rieman to continue the summer dump hours on Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m. beginning on May 27 and ending on September 10. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Otto and seconded by Vicki Baum to approve the Horicon State Bank as the Town’s bank and the Local Government Investment Pool for the Town Equipment and Fire Fund. Motion carried.
Plans for this year’s road repairs were read by Supervisor Bob Young.
A motion was made by Philip Waldvogel and seconded by Lavern Pieper to allow an increase of $15,000 over the road budget if needed. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Ken Nitschke and seconded by Randy Schwark to allow the Town Board to borrow up to $100,000 if necessary to carry on Town business. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Gary Backhaus and seconded by Vicki Baum to pay all three cemeteries in the Town $1200 annually. Motion carried.
Handouts were distributed explaining Town and County zoning. Members of the Town Zoning Update Committee requested that the Town have an informational meeting about the advantages and disadvantages of each. A motion was made by James Stone and seconded by Phil Apfelbeck to table the decision on the meeting until the May Monthly meeting. Motion carried.
A motion was made by David Otto and seconded by Marilyn Rieman to set the 2011 Annual Meeting for Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 6 p.m. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Randy Schwark and seconded by Lavern Pieper to adjourn at 8:06 p.m. Motion carried.

The monthly Town Board meeting was called to order on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 8:08 p.m. by Chairman Tim Fletcher.
Present were Tim Fletcher, Bob Young, Dale Braunschweig, Gary Backhaus, Dennis Braun, Ray Butterbrodt, James Stone, David Otto, Vicki Baum, Philip Waldvogel, Merlin Pieper, Ken Woock, Randy Schwark, Phil Apfelbeck, Lavern Pieper, Ruth Pieper, Kenneth Nitschke, Harold Nitschke, Randy Woock, Marilyn Rieman, and Debra Waldvogel.
The minutes of the March meeting were read by the Clerk. A motion was made by Braunschweig and seconded by Young to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
Chairman Fletcher read the meeting notice.
James Stone passed around a copy of the reports he did for the Town Hall and Fire Station with his thermal imaging camera.
A motion was made by Young and seconded by Braunschweig to grant the Burnett Fire Department a temporary beer license for Saturday, April 24, 2010. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Young and seconded by Braunschweig to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Braunschweig and seconded by Young to pay all bills as presented. Ck # 23223 through Ck # 23251 for a total of $21,155.25. Motion carried.
Supervisors Young and Braunschweig examined the cancelled checks and compared them to the March bank statement.
A motion was made by Young and seconded by Braunschweig to adjourn at 9:00 p.m. Motion carried.
