May 12, 2009
The Monthly Town Board meeting was called to order on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 7 p.m. by Chairman Tim Fletcher.
Present were Tim Fletcher, Bob Young, Dale Braunschweig, Town Attorney, Doug Plier, Ron Woock, Les McCullough, Marvin Reisitter, Arnie Oathout, Darrell Pollesch, Lavern Pieper, John Ganske, Dennis Giese, Cheryl Voss, Gary Backhaus, Ray Butterbrodt, Kenneth Woock, Philip Waldvogel, Vicki Baum, David Otto, Donna Weigel, Randy Schwark, Randy Woock, Charles Grebel, John Meylink, Bob Peterson, Merlin Pieper, John Butterbrodt, Marilyn Rieman, Gerda Braunschweig, and Debra Waldvogel.
The minutes of the April meeting were read by the Clerk. A motion was made by Young and seconded by Braunschweig to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
Chairman Fletcher read the meeting notice.
A proposed Small Wind Energy System Ordinance was introduced by Town of Burnett Board of Appeals Chairman, Phil Waldvogel. Atty. Plier advised that this be a stand-alone ordinance that is consistent with the Town’s zoning ordinance. A motion was made by Braunschweig and seconded by Young to have the Plan Commission and Board of Appeals review this proposed ordinance in time for next month’s Board meeting. Motion carried.
Road bids were opened from Scott Construction, Wolfe Paving, Northeast Asphalt, and Crack Filling Service. A motion was made by Young and seconded by Braunschweig to accept the bids from Northeast Asphalt, Scott Construction, and Crack Filling Service. Motion carried.
Next on the agenda was to act on the watercourse obstruction on Parcel 006-1215-2042-001 owned by Dennis Giese. This was in response from a request from several area farmers and the Dodge County Antique Power Club. Supervisor Young has an idea to solve this water problem and asked for one week to meet with those involved to see if they would agree with it. The Town is also waiting for a response from the Army Corps of Engineers. It was agreed that the Town Board will meet again at the Town Hall on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 7 p.m. to again take up this matter.
A motion was made by Young and seconded by Braunschweig to issue two temporary beer licenses to the Burnett Fire Department for June 1 through 7 and July 13 through 19. Motion carried.
It was noted how nice the Hall looked with the new paint and new trash cans which were all donated by the Burnett 4-H Club. The Town Board will send a thank you note to the club.
A motion was made by Braunschweig and seconded by Young to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Braunschweig and seconded by Young to pay all bills as presented. Ck # 22921 through Ck # 22944 for a total of $40,480.90. Motion carried.
Supervisors Young and Braunschweig examined the cancelled checks and compared them to the April bank statement.
A motion was made by Young and seconded by Braunschweig to adjourn at 9:01 p.m.
